Today is the first day of Christmastide.
Today is the first day
Of Christmastide
Eleven more to come.
A babe, a child
A bar mitzvah-ed boy,
A brother, carpenter, son,
All before a preacher,
Messiah, crucified one.
So don't rush,
Don't over anticipate,
Participate in the now.
The sun glances off the snow;
The battle enjoined,
Heat, light, again, cold, dark
But beauteous both.
The Savior born.
