June 5, 2011; 7th Sunday of Eastertide; John 17:1-11

This is an invitation to meditate this week on Sunday's lectionary passage from the gospel of John.

Turn to God

Open our eyes

See the glory--

Amen.

1 After Jesus had spoken these words, he looked up to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son so that the Son may glorify you,

11 And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one. NRSV

Notice the flow of glory, of being as you read.
Feel the movement in and out of your body, now your heart, finally your mind.
How is God and Jesus in God protecting you today?
Sit in the warm embrace of the God of love. Give thanks.
Go about your day so encircled.

The compassing of God be on thee,
The compassing of the God of life.
The compassing of Christ be on thee,
The compassing of the Christ of love.
The compassing of Spirit be on thee,
The compassing of the Spirit of Grace.
The compassing of the Three be on thee,
The compassing of the Three preserve thee,
The compassing of the Three preserve thee.
