PRAYER FOR THE SEASON OF ADVENT

God said, “Let there be light.” and there was light.
Let this be a time in which the darkness of winter,
the darkness of despair, the darkness of sin,
THE darkness
hears God’s word and is enlightened.
Come Lord Jesus, Light of the World, come.

May God bring to each of us the blessings of Advent…
May we use our time of waiting to become…
more faithful followers,
more expectant believers,
more joyful disciples,
more peaceful peoples.
Amen.

Bright star-maker God,
travel with us
through Advent

shine into
our dark corners

lead us into
ways of justice

warm us
with joy and wonder

bring us
to new birth.
