The voice of one crying out in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord,…and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’ Luke 3: 4b, 6
Read Luke 3: 4-6.
Preparation for the birth of God’s anointed involves knowing what is and who we are. Who around us is crying to be heard? What within us needs hearing? Let us go to the wildernesses of our lives. God’s salvation is at hand.

Stop—Listen—
Hear the voices crying in the wildernesses of today.
Lord Jesus, we hear you crying in the moans of the poor, the abused, the hurting. We hear you crying for justice, for goodness. We hear your voice proclaiming you are coming. So we cry for mercy. Forgive our laziness, our selfishness, our apathy. Amen.
